Black Hole Resole

Resole Order

Step 1 — Clean Your Shoes

Cleaning your shoes reveals damage, removes contaminants that can prevent good adhesion, and keeps bacteria and fungi from spreading.

  1. Scrub with lukewarm to warm water (not hot!) using a toothbrush to reach into the toe. Mild soap recommended — a small amount of dish soap or down detergent works well.
  2. Rinse and squeeze out water.
  3. Air dry in front of a fan. DO NOT USE HEAT OR SUNLIGHT TO DRY.

Step 2 — Inspect Shoe Condition

Note the condition of each pair being submitted.

3D Shoe Last Files

When I started resoling, I faced a common problem — good climbing shoe lasts are simply not available, especially to new or unauthorized resolers. Out of necessity I started designing my own, built around the specific models coming through my shop. After two years of learning and iteration, I've reached a point where I feel genuinely confident in several of these models and want to make them available to other resolers at an affordable rate.

Purchasing the 3D files gives you access to a Dropbox folder that I continue to update as I improve the fit and scaling of that model. Files include STL/STP formats configured for different thimbles, as well as a ZIP file with all sizes ready to send to a manufacturer.

PLEASE DO NOT SHARE FILES. They are for your use only as a resoler.

In order to increase access to resoling everywhere, I've tied the pricing of the last files to the median income of your country. After checkout, I will confirm your country before accepting payment and sending you a Dropbox link to the files. Thank you!

Reoccuring Monthly Deals

Why Resole on a Schedule?

If you're climbing in your favorite shoes two or three times a week, you can expect the rubber to wear through every three to four months. Most climbers wait until their shoes are completely blown out, but by then the rand is damaged and repairs get more expensive.

These rotating deals are designed to get you in the habit of resoling before that happens. Each month, a different category of shoe gets a discount — so if your go-to pair happens to be featured, it's a good nudge to send them in. When those shoes are worn through four months later, the same deal will be offered again and you can continue to resole them at a discount.

Resoling regularly keeps your rubber fresh, your footwork precise, and your favorite shoes alive for years longer than they'd otherwise last. See all four rotating deals below.
